Simone Rocha Reworks adidas Originals Through Ribbon, Pearls and Proportion

The first adidas Originals collection from Simone Rocha does more than decorate familiar sportswear. It changes the way those pieces behave.

Across footwear, apparel and accessories, Rocha applies the visual language that has defined her London fashion house: delicacy set against structure, romantic ornament placed on functional forms, and familiar silhouettes altered through proportion.

Three footwear ideas, not one repeated formula

The SR Taekwondo Ballerina replaces a conventional athletic reading with ribbon lacing, then adds pearl-inspired and diamanté detailing at the toe.

The SR Climacool pushes a technical runner toward Mary Jane territory through a leather upper, open tongue construction and sculptural heel counter. The SR Japan Fuzzy Slip On shifts an archival low-profile design into something softer, combining a pony hair-effect upper, open heel and raised pearl-like Three Stripes.

Rocha does not flatten the three shoes into a single theme. Ribbon, cutouts, texture and ornament appear in different ways, giving each silhouette its own reason to exist.

Sport meets Rocha’s design language

The collaboration first appeared during Simone Rocha’s Fall/Winter 2026 runway presentation in London. That origin helps explain why the project feels like a complete fashion collection rather than a small footwear capsule.

adidas brings decades of recognizable sports construction; Rocha changes the mood through materials and shape. The tension between those identities is the collection’s main idea.

The Shervarino take

This collaboration succeeds because it is easy to identify both sides of it.

The adidas references remain visible, but none of the shoes feels like a standard model with decoration attached at the end. The Climacool becoming a Mary Jane may be the clearest expression of the partnership: performance history is still present, but the proportions change how the silhouette is read.
